I had something weird happen to me yesterday. I was occupied in the other room. There was a knock at the front door. I yelled," Just a minute." I went to the front door. No one was there. I thought maybe they went to the back after I didn't answer. I walked to the back door seeing a white pickup out the window on the way. By the time I got to the back door, the truck was gone but here on the porch was a grocery paper bag full of different kinds of bread, hot dog buns, hamburger buns, other kinds of bread. It had a note on it saying: For your dogs. Thank you. I have NO idea who did this. And I kept thinking," Who the heck feeds dogs bread?" And I'M certainly not going to eat bread from an unknown source. It could be mad at me neighbors because my dogs bark so much. I threw it out. Is that weird or what?

That is very strange and I agree, I would NOT feed it to any of my animals.

Having said that - there are folks who come from a time in life where they don't believe in wasting anything. My In Laws are like that. They used to save EVERYTHING that they could no longer consume for my dogs. I never fed them anything - but I didn't tell them that. Could be something as simple as that.

BUT - I still wouldn't feed anything from a stranger to anyone. Ever. At this point I'd be on a wait and see mode. If they continue to drop and run, I'd make a statement with the police. I'd suspect it might not ever happen again. It sounds like left overs from some sort of social function.

It could have been entirely meant as a nice gesture but personally I would have just thrown it out as well No reason to feed that many carbs and who knows what else may have been added or come in contact with it

Just not worth the risk either way

Such a sad world we live in when one has to wonder about the intention behind a seemingly nice gesture.

Unfortunately, I am one who wonders as well....

I would have thrown it out as well......

Well, it happened again. A week later is a paper bag full of different kind of chips and sealed packages of beef jerky sitting on the back porch again. I didn't know what else was in the bag but no note this time. It went in the garbage too. Like I'm going to eat food when I didn't know where it came from? Nothing since then though. Thank god. Never did find out who was doing it though.
