Found out what is wrong with my rescued GSD

such that his first owner abandoned him.

When he was 5 months old, the anconeal process in his elbow had not knitted and his elbow had dislocated. He could not stand and was in pain. He was also showing a very high WBC count. The day after getting this news, his first owner abandoned him.

We took him to an orthopedic specialist in Nuremberg last Friday who x-rayed his hips, spine, and elbow. We were prepared to do whatever it took to fix him. Only there is nothing to be done because the dog is completely healthy. The elbow has made proper union, his hips are quite fine for a GSD, not perfect, but not indicative of hip dysplasia, and his spine is healthy. The problem is that this dog is big, grew too fast, and his bones just needed a little more time. So his first owner gave up on him at the first sign of trouble and for what turns out to be no reason. Well, he is ours now and he is not going any where except on his pillow to snooze after a hard day of playing and taking naps. He turns 1 in 2 weeks.
