Default Lisl at the drive-up Window

Yesterday Lisl and I walked to the pharmacy to pick up one of my scripts.

She knows everyone that works there, but yesterday I didn't take her in because they were unusually crowded and there's not much space to stand at the checkout without someone getting into Lisl's space.

We walked up to the drive through window instead. The young lady that usually works the window got my script and brought Lisl a treat like she always does. She took it gently and got off the window counter and ate her treat while the transaction was being finished.

One of the pharmacy techs at the fill counter said 'Hi' to us and Lisl jumped back onto the counter window with her front paws. The tech asked if she could have another treat and Lisl heard this and practically jumped through the drive through window.

I mean, she was half way into the store on top of the window counter looking for this treat the pharmacy tech mentioned. I wish I had a picture of this. Half GSD with legs hanging out the window and the other half inside the store looking for this treat.

I had to pull her out since she had nothing to pull or push against to get out of the window opening had I told her 'OFF' so I didn't bother with the command.

I swear this dog is part kangaroo.

LOL. I can almost picture that. I was amazed at the spaces ours could get into and still turn around etc. Doesn't surprise me.

This window is larger than one you would find at a fast food restaurant. She got up there like someone had shot an arrow into a ring.

LOL... crazy dogs

I was doing a detection training problem with Fama off leash off the side of a road. At certain times, a driveway would cross the ditch we were working. She was about 50 meters ahead of me and coming up on a drive that crossed the ditch. A delivery truck stopped at the culvert right as Fama got done searching the near side. The passenger window was down on the truck and she jumped right through the open window, did a quick search of the cab interior, ignoring the screaming driver, and jumped right back out. She went back to searching like nothing was out of the ordinary

I got to the truck as soon as I could, and the driver was still shaken up. It surprised him because he hadn't even seen her working when he pulled up, he just saw the dog coming through the window in a flash, turning around and hopping back out I apologized to the driver and he ended up watching us train for a bit.

If I hadn't caught her half way through she would have continued all the way and would have gone straight to the pharmacy tech that offered the treat.

What a disaster that would have been. She would have tried getting back out the same way she got in looking for me outside while I'm running around to the other side of the building coming through the human entrance looking for her.

Sounds like a Monty Python sketch in the making.

There are some phrases and sentences you can't say to Lisl if the circumstances aren't right.
