Touch and go. Touch and go.
Beth managed to open the bedroom door to go be with my daughter. Two of our cats were curled up on her bed. Beth only barked when Ziggy hissed and growled. Bark, but no lunging, no attempt at biting. I was tempted to consider this a step backwards until I took Beth out for her encore bed walk. Our three outties were all on the back patio, as per usual. Our oldest cat was atop the grill. Beth acknowledged her with perked ears, and a wistful whine. I approached the cat to give her a scratch behind her ears. Beth sat placidly by my side. With a stupidly hanging jaw, I continued to pet the cat. Beth watched me closely, working her brows and tilting her head. Finally, she put her paws up on the grills tray and poked the cat with her nose. Cat growled, but didn't move. Beth fell back to all fours, looking satisfied. Dare I consider the possibility that maybe......maybe some day, cats will no longer be an issue? I don't know what I'd do. Faint, maybe.

It will all work out. Two of our cats walk with us. We another strange little Siamese feral that my dog loves. She must sleep in the same room with him everyday.
It helps if your cats don't run and stand there ground. |

It will work out, because your dog is not trying to be mean. She is just curious and wants to play. All day long my GSD is playing with the cats(a couple of them start with her) and at night they sleep together.

Sounds very promising
![]() Our pup is getting mixed signals from our cat. The cat was declawed before we got him, so when the pup pokes him with her nose he slaps her face. I'm thinking it comes off as a play slap because Max doesn't have any claws so Nita thinks he wants to play!

With more than 1 cat, Beth is definitely getting mixd signals. She seems to be applying what she learns from the outdoor cats, to the indoor cats. At any rate, right now, the bedroom door where the cats take refuge, is standing wide open. Beth will walk past the hallway, casually glance down at the cat sitting in the doorway, then moves on to other stuff with a simple suggestion from me.
Don't know that I'll ever be able to post side-by-side picture of cat and dog.... and I am perfectly okay with that so long as a cease fire is called and forever respected.

Our GSD pup wanted to just see kitty, but the way he went about it was insane.
So we took him out for a walk/run and on the way home, attached his prong collar. When we got back to the drive, there stood my kitty (he's an outdoor cat too, our mouser) and so I tightened up my grip a bit. Ruger was a little tired, a little of the edge was gone, and he just sniffed the kitty and licked his head! All that time, he just wanted to see, and got frustrated because we wouldn't let him! I knew he wasn't aggressive but the cat had a bad experience a while back and will run when Ruger acts like a nutjob. And the running will trigger "must chase", so Ruger has to be watched around our kitty, even so. If the cat would stand still it would sure help LOL |

Well, he was given a bloody nose over the weekend for licking Maddy's face. Apparently a dog stealing a kiss from a cat is frowned upon by the Missouri Feline Faction. That was definitely the beginning of Beth's burgeoning respect for kittehs.
