Default The I'm Sorry Dog Thread

Tethered pup to me while I was shoveling the driveway today to give her more outside time to look at cars and neighbors. Pup was running near me when a dog came outside, and I accidentally hit her on the head with my shovel. I'm sorry dog.

The other day, sister and I were sitting on couch, Pup was dead asleep on couch after our run together. I was passing my laptop to sister to look at a funny, when she accidentally dropped it on the sleeping Puppy. Pup was not pleased, very startled, and moved off the couch in a huff. Sorry dog!

Pup will never understand the "I'm sorry", but maybe forum members can give her forgiveness in her place. Please feel free to use this thread to share your apologetic moments.

I was playing Wii bowling with hubby. I was sitting on the floor and Maggie walked in front of me just as I was "throwing" the ball. I smacked her with the controller right in the snout. So very sorry, Maggie. She forgave me instantly, but I had to continue the game with her in my lap.

I am the worlds clumsiest person - just ask my husband. I rarely can get through the day with tripping or falling or somehow harming myself.

I am CONSTANTLY apologizing to the dogs for stepping on them or bumping into them.

When the Cresteds were puppies I think I said "SORRY!" 50 times a day!! DH and I had to learn to shuffle throughout the house when the pups were loose. Can't tell you how many times we accidentally booted them across the floor (they would walk in front of our feet just as we were taking a step).

It's funny how I saw this just minutes after I screwed up

My bed is high, about 3.5' off the ground. Jazzy sleeps on the bed but I don't want her jumping on and off due to the height so I taught her to wait for me to lift her on and off. I do it every day but tonight I wasn't paying a lot of attention and picked her up with one hand but she decided to jump out to jump onto the bed. It was a mad scramble and thank God for poodle reflexes and flexibility but she jumped off my hand, off the side of the bed and I managed to catch her just before she touched the floor

Sorry Jazzy, thankfully no blood no foul. I got a grateful kiss after I hugged her I feel rotten

We have a door in the kitchen that goes slightly down to a very small 'landing' to the door outside. Grim is often in a rush, and you have to open the door to the outside slowly to give him room to back out of the way. The other day I thought his front feet (umm, 'clubs' rather) were out of the way and I opened the door. It rammed right into the front of one of his feet. He yiped. My heart sank. He opened the screen door and went out before I could even say I was sorry...so I opened the screen door and was yelling "I'm sorry, Grim! I didn't mean to hit your foot! I'm sorry!" If we had neighbors....

Rocket is super-good on his flat collar when we're walking and running. In fact, he really has never pulled, just the occasional one when he was a wee pup towards a dog, and he hasn't done that in ages. The only other rare time has been when he's had to go poop on the run, which happened a bit more frequently (say, 4-5 times) when he was just starting out. Then, it's almost like I can just feel him on the end of the leash; this is always my litmus test on whether a dog is truly leash trained, is whether I can "feel" him on the end of the leash.

So yesterday, we go out for about 6 miles, and about 1 mile in, a huge herd of deer--seriously-- decided to cross the road in front of us. We and a couple of cars had to stop for at least a minute, and there had to be 50 if there was one. (We've counted 54 in the yard before so plausible). He was a little ramped up at the sight of so many, and for the next 2-3 miles, he was almost irritating me in that he was doing that slight, very slight pull. Just enough that I could "feel" him. I figured it was the excitement of the deer. I was getting annoyed and stopped and made him do some heeling, some turns, some 'watch me' etc. Then we started up again and continued another mile, but it was still there. He looked up at me, and I asked him if he wanted to "sniff", which he is allowed to do if he "asks" me and give me the "watch me". So anyhow, I release him, and he immediately goes the the side of the ditch and starts pooping. I felt SOOO bad!! I scooped it up in my little bag (we were only about 3/4's of a mile from home) and of course, he's perfect. I felt so bad that he must've had to go all that time! And I should've known, since he hadn't gone that morning.

When will I ever learn?!

I'm sorry, pupperoni!

Last week at obedience cross training, Stella started getting a bit out of control towards the end of the class. Barking and jumping around. I assumed it was her reactivity gone over the top. Even the trainer was surprised at how crazy Stella was acting and suggested I walk out while she holds Stella and walks behind me. (so Stella would not bother the other dogs) As soon as we got outside, Stella ran....and I mean ran....with me hanging onto the leash, straight into the woods where we usually go after class for a walk. She immediately pooped...didn't even sniff around.
Sorry Stella.

In the middle of CGC class, Finn suddenly starts acting like a fool. He's not paying attention, he's fidgety, and just not responsive to anything, not even his super jackpot treat. I walk him in a tight circle and the minute we stop, he squats and poops everywhere. I felt so miserable.

Just yesterday I was picking up in the house and I picked up a rather large and heavy book off the floor and tossed it towards the couch. I wasn't paying attention and I didn't see that he had gotten up on the couch and the book hit him in the head. I felt so bad about it.

I or the hubby are constantly stepping on his tail as we get out of bed because he likes to lay under the bed. He gets startled and hits his head on the bed frame trying to get out.

Mea culpa, mea culpa, mea maxima culpa!
