Don't get me wrong. I love love love love my girl Juno to pieces. She is the best dog I've ever owned. And when we first got Bowser, I'll admit I panicked slightly after the 3rd sleepless night wondering how I was ever going to bond with him the way I have with her.
But now that he's settled in to our home and everyday brings new little stories and pleasures, I love him more and more. I've never owned a male dog before so I just have to say: IT IS SO AWESOME OWNING A BOY!! He's so sweet and affectionate! Without me forcing myself on him! He's so easy going. He makes mealtimes one of the most riveting events in my day. He's such a goofball. And he's such a BOY. lol! Even though it's only been just over a month the experience of having a Male dog in the house has been such a different one from female and I'm loving every minute of it. |

My personal preference is male animals as well, I find them easier then female. I have no issues with females, but I find there is a difference.

I prefer males as well.
I have two females, and I still love them to death... but my boy is very special to me. He's the lover... the girls are... well... bitches!

She very often "spurns" you when you go to give her loves. But Bowser is always ready for loves. He literally follows you around ready to give kisses. I love it. |

I really like my male - he is everything I could have hope for in my next competition/breeding dog...BUT it took me a long time to appreciate him.
I LOVE my female - she is my heart dog - and even thinking about her not being around someday can bring me to tears. I prefer females in general as they tend to get a little more serious at a younger age, and I have found them better problem solvers in general. I definitely love Gladiator now, and I love how he is truly dedicated to me, but no dog can ever take Ironhide's place. We have 3 females in house and 3 males, so we are pretty balanced, but the boys tend to make me laugh more, while the girls are my go to dogs when I need the job done right...LOL |

When we discussed adopting our first dog, it was going to be a female (Lab or GSD).
What a surprise when Joey came into our lives. Amazing how much love he brings!

Both my male and female are super affectionate with people but my male is definitely a big goofball whereas my female is more serious.

I have a female mutt and a male Siberian Huksy. Jolene is GSD/Sheltie/Husky with GSD the apparent more bit of the mix. She's really shy and quiet (due to her abuse as a puppy) and doesn't show affection as he does. She does it in her own way. He's just a love bug.... loves everyone.
