Default Dang!! That bone HURT!!

Gunner likes to take his marrow bones (after he's done with it) and have a game of "throw the marrow bone and chase it".
He picks it up and WINGS it across the room. Well, last night he was next to my chair (I was watching TV), picked it up and winged it....right into my face!
Now, he was less than 3 ft from me and let me tell you, he throws those things with a lot of force. It was a thick bone about an inch high and thick.

It hit me on the side of my face, on my upper cheek (near my hairline) and based on where the welt came up, it hit my glasses too. It broke the skin in a tiny area, nothing major. But this morning my cheek is swollen and it hurts, even to the touch.

It hit so hard and so fast and I didn't see it coming. That's the worst part, not seeing it coming. I immediately put an ice pack on it, but it swelled anyway and it's a tiny bit bruised.

Ehh, the joys of owning a marrow bone loving GSD!

Ouch! I'd rather NOT have a weight-bearing bone smashed into my face either!

Yeah, NOT fun!

Usually he just picks the bone up and hops in the air and tilts his head back and the bone lurches forward and he chases it.
I guess that wasn't fun enough, so now he's taking to picking up the bone and shaking his head to the side, which gives the projectile more force.

Ouch Delgado does the same and his favorite new game is becoming "drop the bone on mom's foot so she'll pay attention to me"

OUCH that had to hurt! Lucky loves marrow bones but never turned them into a projectile. He just buries them in my oregano. Guess he want them seasoned.

Here is the bugger playing with an old marrow bone in the yard. You'll see how he picks it up and throws it.
He was less than a year old here and has a LOT more force to his "throws" now.
