Default Suddenly Doesn't Like It

The other day, I bought an antique bassinet for my pregnant daughter. I am in the process of steel wooling it so that I can paint it over. Wolfie was fine with the bassinet when I bought it. He was with me when I put it in the car next to him to drive it home. He was fine when I had it in the basement, but as soon as I started to refinish it, he suddenly doesn't like it. It seems that he is afraid of it when I am working on it, but as soon as I stop, he comes right over and sits next to me. If I move it while I am working on it, he starts barking and backing away. I just don't get it.
