Default just curious

i went to flemington today, had to take my daughter for a job interview so i brought lexie. i figured she would be in there for a while so off we went for a walk in the shopping center (its very busy there) this way i could work on her lunging at cars. i hardly started to walk when a car stopped to talk to me and ask about my dog. then another one. wow my
dog is very special im thinking! i go out on the busy road and 2 other cars stop in the road to tell me how pretty she is. so im thinking as much as id like to think my dog is quite the stunner, i think people are curious because there arent any visable gsd in new jersey anymore. i take this dog everywhere, and never see one, lots of little dogs (not as cute as ozzy) or labs but no shepherds. is this the same case where you live? i did read the article in the times about gsd and how they fell out of favor, now im really starting to believe it

I live in a small town, my 2 GSDs are the only ones that I am aware of in the neighborhood, there are a couple of small breeds, chis, poos, one rottie, heard of a boxer, one lab mix, all the rest are pits.

I see a couple different GSD's a day. They seem to be every where out here (Los Angeles County).

They're pretty common in CT... I think especially in rural areas where I live...something about gun totin' swamp yankees and GSD's just seems to go together

I've only seen 1 GSD in my neighborhood, a black and tan male.

Sinister's buddy Cujo is a sable GSD, we haven't seen him in a while though.

They are really common where I am (small town surrounded by farming communities), especially in the country.

Each time I go to Petsmart with Stella people ooooh and ahhhh over her, even though I see other GSD's there most times we go.

There are a few other GSD's in the neighborhood but I rarely see them.

Many times my son likes to work on his music and he will tie out Stella and sit in the front yard with her. She always gets a ton of compliments as she sits or lies on the higher portion of the front yard and is always aware and alert to her surroundings.

I think the reason people comment and make a fuss over GSD's is because they always look aware and are very in tuned with their enviornment as opposed to some other breeds that are not instinctually shepherding /guard dogs.

Heck, I always comment and fuss over other folks GSD's when I see them either at Shutzhund or Petsmart.
