Default The Tasmanian Devil Dog can be rather amusing

I'm trying to keep her mind occupied while waiting to get her to training, since she is still on-leash in the house and in the crate at night (or when I have things to do that I can't drag a dog on a leash around with me). I told the trainer that I taught her to "lay." He told me he usually uses "down" so I started saying "lay down" then dropped the "lay" and she responds to "down" now. So 2 nights ago I taught her "give me your paw." Only took about 4 times for her to get it, using leftover prime rib for the reward. Now when I have a really good treat in hand, she quickly goes through a series of sitting, laying and offering her paw in rapid succession, trying to figure out which one I'm going to say in advance. My vet thought her skin was a bit dry from the heat in the house and recommended giving her some fish oil. I was wondering whether to pill her or squeeze it into her food. I've since found it's a favorite treat. I hand her one and she chomps it up and stares at me with her tongue hanging out wanting another one. This dog's funny.

Actually, ANY food seems to motivate her. Who'd have thunk that fish oil capsules would turn out to be a treat?

Thats great! At 12 Daisy requires a high value treat (something not on her diet) to do anything new.
