Default Chicago?

Sunday morning I had Good Morning America on. As the weather person was showing the map with temperatures listed, my husband says "well, we'll never move to Bismarck".
Gunner was sitting on the couch in an upright position just looking out the window.
I said "yeah, not Chicago". As I said that, Gunner's ears pitched forward and looked at me, head tilted. We both saw it, so my husband starts rattling off cities and nothing. Then he says "Chicago" and yet again ears pitch, head tilts and his mouth closes (he was sitting panting).
I start rattling cities and again nothing till Chicago and now his head whips around to look at me. And every time he closes his mouth.

I was like ?? We did this a few more times and suddenly he starts running around all excited. Apparently he thinks going to Chicago is a fun idea.
Now, there were no other phrases used like "do you want?" or any key phrase that gets him going. Just one word "Chicago".

We did it again last night, same reaction.
Just a few minutes ago I let him out to do his business. It's raining, so when he came back up on the deck, I opened the door to let him in but he just stood there, looking around. It's only a light rain, more like a drizzle.
I called him to come in several times and he just ignored me. So I said "Chicago" and he came running, all excited.

It doesn't rhyme with anything that would get him going, like "walk" or "leash". Nothing. I don't get this silly dog sometimes.

Gunner must be confused, there is nothing exciting about Chicago, trust me.

With my Boston accent, I can hear the words Car and Go in Chicago. Maybe Gunner hears those words too and wants to go in the car.

Ah, you may be onto something there. It may just be the "go at the end".
