There are woods behind our house and I've started taking the dogs there on our daily walks. They LOVE it. So many sights and smells. It also seems to tire them out way more than a walk the same distance through the neighborhood on the sidewalk so we are all happy.

I don't blame them, I would opt for the woods over the concrete sidewalk too. Lucky pups.

We do the woods almost daily. She does about twice the mileage that I do (if I walk). There are so many smells, things to chase, things to be alert for, things to jump over. You can't beat the woods.

I agree, woods are much better....in certain seasons. I don't use ours in the heat of the summer due to mosquito's and ticks. But we love it the other times of year. We are lucky to have acres and acres of woods, pond, stream, bog and pine right behind the house.
A developer purchased it all to build a condo senior community but when the economy tanked he put off the start. I treasure this land and know it is only a matter of time before it is ruined. And my property value will decline when it happens. Karlo in the boggy area: ![]()

Mine love the stables. The horses! The Barn Cats! The Smells!

My dogs love the woods but the warm weather has extended the tick season and it will be another week or so before hunting season is over. I can't wait. They really miss it. They look so disappointed when we pass the trailhead on our walks.
