Default What X-mas means to you.

In high school every year, the english teachers would pick 4-5 students in each grade that wrote about a heart-felt warming x-mas story, poem or what x-mas meant to them in general.
I won my Junior year in 2008.
So if you don't care; why don't you all share your meaning of x-mas.
I thought this would be great since x-mas is like 14-15 days away.

Here is mine:

Christmas is a time for love, hope, and laughter. It brings joy to me when I get to ride in town to see all the decorations and trees that every1 has put up. To come home and smell the food that has been cooked and to see every1 loved one there; laughing and joking. I don't think christmas is about presents in general I think its about the thought of giving that counts. Santa isn't a man who goes down chimneys and puts presents under the tree and has eight reindeer, He is the role model of x-mas; he is what gives children and us as adults the warmth, love and hope on christmas. Singing carols and drinking eggnog and wishing every1 the best this year. I hope every1 who has/had a hard time this year will have a great fulfilling christmas and a happy new year.

Wishing every1 a merry christmas and a happy new year to you, your children and your dogs.

Well to me Christmas means money wasted on junk people don't need, a full kennel and no sleep for weeks, too much traffic as people run around trying to fill their cars with more stuff that will end up in a landfill, getting a mailbox of cards from people I don't really know anymore and goodwill bell people annoying me when I'm trying to get supplies to keep my kennel going.

Can you tell I'm not a fan?

Now 4th of July is a holiday I can get excited about... Just 7 months to go, sigh.

We do Yule and Christmas. My son is Christian (but we do not teach its the birth of Jesus) and my grandfather is still living. So really those are the only reasons we do things on Christmas.

For us its a time for family, fun, food, giving, presents, joy, snow, lights, the smells and the birth of the sun

Christmas is the most stressful time of year when companies and their advertisers use guilt and peer pressure to get us to spend money so that they can give their top executives big bonuses.

We celebrate Hanukkah.....the festival of lights. A time of family, re-dedication, latkes and dreidel songs

Wishing all joyous holidays
