Default How many of you wimp out on the cold, rainy, muddy days? (I did today :( !)

I majorly wimped out. It was raining at first potty break and continued all day, and is still raining. The wind is pretty strong and it's muddy.

I took a shower, but put jammies right back on. Isn't that terrible?

The dogs have been out for potty breaks, but zero outdoor exercise at all.

I did about half an hour of obedience stuff with Bailey inside tonight and that's it.

It could be my laziest dog day ever. Bailey was a little whiney earlier, but now he's just like, ok, mom, I'm bored and you suck and I guess I'll just hang out. He follows me around, like I'm going to actually do something of significance... but nope... I'm lazy.

Tomorrow it'll be cold, but the rain is supposed to stop so I'll suit up in my 22 layers and we'll go do something.... He'll be a muddy mess, but that boy can't be kept inside two full days in a row.

Feeling guilty right now!

Thanks for letting me rant!

Me too! Like you, it can only be one day and I'll pay for it later. We did agility class this morning indoors, but other than that it's been wimp-out day.

it was a wimp out (outside) day for me too....rainy dark and mud. I had to clean the inside of the house, so the dogs were limited outside. I didn't track this morning because it was raining, and didn't track tonight because I had to take pics of my daughters winter formal night.
My dogs have been very patient with me today, I sure hope tomorrow we can get some energy out. No training with club

I feel for their brains today. I was on my laptop waay more than I should have been

Dogs got a short walk tonight around the block but were stuck inside most of the day because I had to work. Tomorrow is going to be the same... I will pay for it... BIG TIME when I come home. Monday is going to be a hike day for us, this way they can run off leash and be dogs.. lol... and I can get some sleep!

When it rains my friend just plays a lot of fetch in her home's hallway. For about two hours in the morning. This usually tires her GSD mix out until the afternoon. That's something to consider.

I see myself wimping out too. I don't go hiking when it's freezing/raining. I'll go if it's a little rainy and cloudy but I hate the cold. Pat will go regardless.

Lol, I don't feel so bad then....It was cold and windy and snowy yesterday...and the wind just blew straight through the jackets. So we let him out for his business and played fetch/monkey in the middle for a while, which worked to some degree. He kept asking to go out, and we were both just like 'noooo...too cold.'. thankfully, it's MUCH warmer today, so we'll go on a nice, long walk.

I try not to wimp out. Went to play some golf today, but can't bring the dog. She goes into visual overload and literally screams...until we go back to the car. So, to make up for it I play games with her inside. Will be getting some boxes tomorrow to hide treats in and start from there

I got out and hiked with Dax before it started raining- yay. We did get rained on walking back- but it wasn't that bad or cold yet.

Last year I asked for all warm clothes last year so I woudn't have to wimp out! I got a super warm down coat, underarmor, waterproof snow boots, 2 pairs of gloves, neck warmer, ear muffs, and a handwarmer. Much more practical than jewelry for Christmas...

This year I'm hoping for a waterproof jacket and mud boots...

This is where I'm thankful I've been running for so long, because I run outside here all year round. It has to be pretty bad for me to not run. BUT:

As someone mentioned, the right clothes make all the difference. When my kids were babies I never had the money (or, I felt guiltier about spending it on myself) to buy any real running gear, and I ran in DH's firedept sweatshirt and leggings O.o I couldn't do that now, I'm too wimpy. Having the right layers and some waterproof jackets are the way to do it. The last marathon I trained for called for my cycle to start the end of Dec. That particular winter we didn't get as much snow, much more rain. Sounds better, eh? WRONG. Rainy and 38 degrees for 15-18 miles, let alone speedwork, is nothing but a drag, plain and simple.

Now, walking the dog for a few miles in rain seems like cake. And a good hike is always a good hike, regardless of weather.

Chelle, maybe Santa will bring you some nice gear. I have good recommendations if you need a pm.

Definitely send me some recommendations.

Did you hate running at first? I'm curious cause I want to start up running to help keep myself in shape. I'm wondering if you just love it from the start or it's something that grows on you.
