My uncle is thinking of giving his dog to the spca. ITs a a dark sable german shepherd. I'm thinking of adopting him, but I"m a little worried. This dog belongs to my cousin. THe dog bit him before. I thought it was because my cousin havent visit him for a long time. Well it bit my cousin agian. Today it bit my uncle in the arm and in the leg. My uncle is scared of the dog now. I want to adopt him, but I don't know if its too late now. He might bite me too.

I think if you had a proffesional help you, you could help this dog get passed it's fear agression, agrression, or whatever. I know a few trainers who have helped dogs' in this situation, but I don't know if you're comfortable using a shock collar, prong, or choke chain. I think you should contact Fred Hassen, also there are some people in New York who could probably help as well. If you're interested let me know.

Sometimes people can set off a dog, without knowing how they set the dog off. But like I said, with a proffesional you can help this dog, and in return the dog can help you too, oneday. You just got give the dog a second chance. I garuntee that if you drop this dog off at the pound/shelter they'll put him down because he's known to bite, so please at least try. You wouldn't want people to give up on you, when you could have a second chance too.

I'll add another vote to get the dog evaluated by a profressional before anything else. You need to figure out why the dog is biting before you can come up with a game plan to stop it.

Can you provide more information about the dog? There are many members on this board who could really assist with valuable information. But the devil is in the details. If you could provide more information about the dog it would really help out.

Sorry guys, was busy with school lately. My uncle decided to keep him
The dog is 4 almost 5 years old now I think. My cousin bought him when he was a puppy. Then he gave it to my uncle because he worked to much, and my uncle work from home so he has more time to spend with the dog.
