Talking I'm Going To Try It!

Well, I'm going to take the dogs' out to potty. Banjo is housetrained, and Riley is somewhat house trained. I think she can hold it for the rest of night, so I'm going to take her out and leave her in my room. The kennel door will be open so she can go in and out as she pleases. I'm confident that she will not chew, poop, or pee in my room. Also, just to clarify, my room is always clean. Nothing in the floor, and is always dusted (unless I don't have time too, and then I forget)!! Anyway, cross fingers she does well!! I'll post what happens when I get up in the morning!!

Good luck!!! One thing we do for Shasta is we still keep a couple bones in the room. Riley doesnt touch them. he just settles in and crashes into doggie dream land. Shasta will chew on a bone for a little bit and then settle down. She's still figuring it out and the bones helped a lot in keeping her from opening drawers and such.

Congrats on this stepping stone! How old is she if you don't mind me asking? My husband's lab is starting to get free reign of the bedroom at night as well, but still gets locked up during the day when he's at work.

She's 9 months old. I adopted her at 5 months old, and I had to potty train her. I'm just now letting her have more free range of the house too. She scratches on the door, or hits the door knob with her nose to let me know when she really needs to go. It's sad when I can't hear my mom screaming at me to get up for church or something, but the slightest little clink noise from her hitting the door knob with her nose wakes me up, ha ha ha!!
