I was taking Bianca to a walk and we went to a friend's house (about a mile away) so she could walk with us, and her neighbor was out front with their German Shepherd puppy. My friend had told me about the puppy before and told them about Bianca, but I hadn't met them before. So when I saw them out in front I brought Bianca over to say hi. I asked how old the puppy was, and they said 6 months. I am wondering if they got told the wrong age when they got him or something though because he REALLY does not look like a 6 month old to me, more like 4 or 5 months. They asked me what kind of dog Bianca was, and when I told them the mother said, "I hope he's not going to get THAT big!" I told her that if he is really 6 months old he probably wouldn't end up as big as Bianca, but that he looked like he was younger than that to me.
At first the puppy kept trying to chew on Bianca and the girl holding the leash kept pulling him away. I guess she thought he was being too rough. The girl's mother kept telling her to let them play but she kept stopping him from playing.

Bianca really wanted to play too...
Finally the girl took the puppy in the yard and her mom followed and told us to come in the yard so the dogs could play. So we let them off leash and they had a blast! Bianca hasn't had a "play date" in a long time since her friend Calvin moved away and she loves puppies. She spent half the time just sniffing the perimeter of the yard with the puppy following her, but the rest of the time they ran and chased each other. The puppy was a LOT less mouthy once they were off leash together, although he was a little bit shy at times but had fun. So Bianca has a new friend! I feel kinda sorry for this puppy though, my friend told me he doesn't really get much exercise, and apparently they keep him in the yard most or all of the time. At least it's a big yard and their kids seem to be outside a lot so he is not alone all the time.
I wish I had gotten a photo, but it was dark and all I had was my cell phone camera (no flash.) Maybe next time!
