Sometimes I wanna kill her and sometimes she melts my heart

Lately Sasha has been driving me crazy with her lattest quirk. I will be asleep, peaceful, content... and then I'll hear it....*lick, lick, lick*....*lick, lick, lick*....*lick, lick, lick*....Sasha has decided I need to get up, but instead of waiting for the alarm, or nudging me, she grooms herself obnoxiously loudly. I will try to ignore it, but the more i ignore, the louder it gets. Finally she is laying right next to the bed doing it as fast and as loud as she can.

"Sasha enough!"

*silence*............*obnoxious licking resumes*

"Gosh darnit Sasha STOP!"

*silence*............*obnoxious licking resumes*

"ENOUGH!"

*silence*............*dramatic sigh*

So every morning I've been getting up a little angrier.

But as I type this now, I am typing with one hand because the other is draped across the German Shepherd whose head is on my lap, and whose ears would be tickled if I used my left hand. So I just smile as she runs and squeaks in her sleep, and try to remember this is the girl I love, and to have her in my life I have to put up with all her quirks as well.

lol if only it was that way with Riley.... That darn dog is going to live forever just to tick me off. Shasta, she's my girl. Riley, oh obnoxious and annoying one that he is, is hubby's dog. nuff said haha. Love my husband. Not so much thrilled with his dog though especially when he does the annoying lick lick lick thing.

Lol My mom used to say our Golden was gonna live forever just to tick her off. That dog was the bane of her existence. Then when the time came to say goodbye, and it was just him and my mom, she bawled like a baby lol You'd be surprised how much you really love them.

But the lick lick thing is annoying; I agree. It's really annoying when you have the sneaking suspicion they are doing it just to tick you off! Sasha gets the evil eye every morning. Every morning I tell her I should send her back to the place with no cheese, but she doesn't listen. She just gives me kisses because she knows that I'll go off to school and then come back from school, coffee filled, and I'll be more annoyed with school than I will be with her lol! She's safe as long as I'm in college lol!

Well i do love Riley but i hate him too. I love him because he's our first dog as a couple, we picked him out together. I hate him because no matter how much work i put into him, the dog my inlaws had when i first started dating my husband in high school rubbed off on him too much when he had to live there until we were able to move into our second apartment. Most annoying animal i ever had to consistently deal with and now Riley.... and he getting worse as he gets older!!! I wont miss his annoying behavior when he's gone. I'll miss the dog he used to be and the one i try to get back, but i wont miss this annoying thing he is 99% of the time. He doesnt even care if he gets in trouble anymore either. He literally jumped all four feet on my kitchen counter last week when i was standing RIGHT THERE. He knows trash diving and counter surfing get him in deep trouble which is why he's crated when we're gone instead of free run like he would be if we were at my inlaws. I swear he's behaving worse and worse to spite me!!! I wouldnt put it past him!!! He's just enough of a pain in the butt to do it too!!!! lol

My mom's pit bull drives me nuts when she licks herself. Sometimes when she gets a drink I wanna rip her tongue out too. She doesn't just *lick lick lick.* It's *SMACK SMACK SMACK SMACK.* It sounds like someone smacking on the nastiest sounding food when they're eating. Drives me INSANE. But I love her.

The smack smack smack would be a better representation of the way Sasha sounds and it is infuriating. I am up half an hour earlier than I need to be right now just because the smacking got to me.

I am sooo glad I am not the only person that lick lick lick lick sound gets to! I had Skye trained that if she wanted to lick and clean herself that she had to go in another room out of ear shot- Don't have the licking problem with Dooney yet- though I am sure it is coming.

I also have my cats trained to not do it near me either- sometimes Jake will be on the end of the bed at night and he will start cleaning himself I will nudge him with my foot once and if he does it again- off the bed he goes!

My Della (pit bull) is like that too She is so LOUD and disgusting sounding when she eats, drinks or licks. She also snores like a 400 pound man

which I HATE.

Fortunately those are her only truly irritating quirks so the good by far outweighs the bad

OMG the licking! ALL of my dogs do that - and my cat has an obnoxious way of sucking in-between his toes. No, i'm NOT joking. It's this slobbery sounding licking followed by a sucking noise. So disgusting! And SO annoying!!!

But yeah - Alex and her lick lick likc is so so so annoying. And she, of course, does it at the most inopportune moments, too, or when I'm most annoyed. Or when she's JUST out of reach....

Riley does that the most when he's in his crate because he KNOWS i'm not going to crawl in there to clobber him with a shoe lol. I keep a shoe handy just to throw at the crate when he starts up. I threatened to shave him like a show poodle and then prance him around a couple of times if he kept it up. I think he watched animal planet with me enough times to know its a serious threat and a final one and i'm not joking about it!

My cat Titan, love him to death, also does the sucking between his toes thing. I get annoyed pretty easily (lack of a real break from things) so the lick lick lick smack smack smack slurp slurp slurp thing they do.... OMG!!!! SO ANNOYING!!!! Shasta will go into the kitchen and slurp as loudly as she can and then proceed to chase the bowl around the kitchen slurping until there is nothing left. Faith is the only one who doesnt drive me insane with the licking. Nope. . . she's the vicious attack kitty lol
