she WAS getting treats after each drawer I gave her a treat but milk bones are like crack to this dog. I give her homemade soup grain free biscuits make homemade doggy biscuits feed her raw give her whatever I'm eating and nothing outweighs milk bones and not just any they have to be actual milk bone brand she is obsessed with them last time she ran out she sat at the cabinet crying for days even though I left it open for her to see they were gone even tried giving her the empty box but nope she was quite certain I was just being mean.

Its ok it happened to me and I'm still chuckling about it (and hanging my head in shame) but what do you expect when you get such a smart breed gotta prepare for it to happen eventually sure everyone here (even the best trainers and breeders) can come up with at least one story where there dog got the upper hand for a split second or did something unexpected where you can just roll with the punches.

No wonder Milk Bonz are crack.
She eats so healthy, it's like going on a low fat/sodium/sugar diet and then going to the fair and eating funnel cake.

Smile little victory

You know, I think it is great! I "let" my girls have a little a victory now and then. Win the tug of war, keep the ball or whatever we are playing with, hide when one doesn't feel like going out, etc etc. You know in their mind they win many little victories, so just understand you are still the leader, but even you got away with things as a kid that didn't deminish your leaders in your eyes.

She DOES get cheetos its not like she's deprived of junk if anyone looks at my FB page we share french fries on the couch at night eat frito's cheetos and all other sorts of junk heck before deploying my husband trained her to pick her toys up with jelly beans lol so while Id love to think it was just junk food she gets junk food quite often while we are snacking together (someone say ice cream at midnight?) but these are just her addiction.

DWP you are thinking exactly like I am. Granted if she ignored commands or was having issues I would up the NILIF and be more strict but she doesn't. She has never challenged my authority and is really a good girl so I see no reason to be the nagging owner who CONSTANTLY makes her do everything just because I can I give her some space to do her own thing. Now if she started acting up of course I'd tighten the strings but as of now she has earned the freedom she has and continues to keep it by good behavior so snatching one milkbone is not the end of the world. Same thing goes for while I'm snacking just handing her a piece of it on the walk by without making her do something for it (not all the time but occassionally) and allowing her in bed and on the furniture. I think some people read so much about troubled dogs they go overboard with trying to do everything right that they stop the dog from showing who they really are. Yes dominant unruly dogs need a lot of NILIF and leadership but some dogs are happy just co-exhisting in life and don't need you to harp on them 24/7 JMO though
