My new trainer came short of calling me a liar last night in class, and this is a good thing.
We have had some issues with Dakota and selected dogs. I'm on class # 3 and besides the first night we have not had a problem with her reacting to any other dog. The first night she did have a problem with one dog and we worked on that. Since then things have been good. Last night he told me he wants me to work with her off leash and I'm thinking yes, I can do this. He then goes on to say that he is not seeing signs of the behaviour that brought me to him, except for the first night and he considered that minor. It could help too that the class is full of german shepherds, and a Doberman, all of which are nicely behaved. The improvement in her is amazing. He's adding another class and wants me to attend both because I will get exposure to more and different dogs. I'm feeling very happy right now. |
