Default Beast's new word

I have not shared any Beast and Boy tales in a while- not for lack of things happening, but simply because I have been so deep in mourning over Old Bitch, the joy has been hard to have. Here is one from today:

Boy has fancied himself a dog trainer for a few years now. He has devoured every book and website he can find and "works" Beast regularly. I have said before that when it comes to actually having control over the Beast second in command is certainly Boy. I have long thought it was simply because Beast humored Boy as a show of love and appreciation for his efforts. Boy works on various tricks with Beast with varying levels of success.

This morning Boy and Beast came tumbling in to my room. I was sitting on the edge of the bed putting on my shoes while my husband was standing at the foot of the bed. Boy and Beast both plopped on the bed.

Boy: Mom, I taught Beast a new word!
Me: Oh? What's that?
Boy: Nibble!
Me: Nibble?
Boy: Yeah watch. Beast, Nibble Daddy.

Beast is a large boy. He is TALL, he is fat, he is fangful. He is a bit of a bumbling oaf. Grace? Delicate? NO! He "nibbled" my husband all right!

Me: Boy! Why would you teach him that?! He will hurt someone. He does not realize how big he is as it stands!
Boy: I thought it would be great if he could nibble like he does his fur. Then he can help with the knots in Girl's hair when you aren't home!
Me: Really? Really? Somewhere along the way you thought it was a *good* idea to teach Beast to get his teeth on your sister's head?
Boy: I know she hates dog spit, but MOOOOM. Dad does a really bad job with her hair.

At this point Beast had grabbed Boy's foot. Boy had been ignoring him rolling all over on the bed in front of him. He dragged the boy off the bed and out in to the hall.

Boy: Maybe I should have taught him a better action for "come play with me"

Someday Beast will get his boy trained. Until then I get to watch (and hey- nibble might be handy- for when I only want to give him a BITE of my food)

ETA: No one was hurt in this story- though a bumbling oaf, Beast is never overly rough when he plays with us. The boy may have had his pride hurt...but he and his dog a tumble and toss types.
