Balto will wake me up in the middle of the night to tell me one of the other dogs is sick and needs to go out now!

Abby screws the caps off 2 liter seltzer bottles... then the rings.... no matter how much I tighten them. Fortunately she just spits them on the floor and doesn't chew them.
Then she brings the bottle to me to hide for her to find.

Sofie lives for her red kong ball.

She drops it in the pool and DH fishes it out with net (long, on long pole).

One day DH refuses to play the game and Sofie goes around the side of the house and drags the net on pole to pool.

She didn't, however, successfully manipulate it to retrieve the ball

Every time I go pull weeds (mainly johnson grass which has a tubular root system) Klaus helps out.

Johnson grass - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Keep in mind he is only 4 months old, but figures out the scent of the weed I am pulling and then uses his professional sniffer to find the roots that I miss! He digs them up and then grabs hold with his teeth and rips them out.

when sibi knows we're going somewhere in the car she runs into the garage and opens the car door and gets in and waits for me

this is not my dog but a very clever mix breed , German shepherd with border collie (old stock Scottish bloodline) - an oops litter. He is 9 years old . Very attractive, height and look of a GSD but has the white paws with black spots and a white with spots "tie".
Very clever dog.
The owner visits me at the market every second week, travelling from Niagara area.

She said that one particularly blazing hot summer the dog had opened the fridge door, pawed open the bottom drawer freezer , removed cold tins and frozen bags of peas etc . He carried them to the leather couch and surrounded himself with this little circle of "cool".

there is another story for later
