Default Caught Banjo in the act

Lately undershirts and underwear have been growing rare in my house. As I live alone and keep fairly good track of my clothing habits it puzzled me some. Well today I saw the reason for this thinning of my clothing herd.

I wear lots of UnderArmor compression style undergarments as I move around lots at work (8 miles of walking is normal). Compression garments work very well in this regard and have great wicking properties. The downside is that any and all garments are wicked expensive. So when 3 pairs of UnderArmor shorts go missing I begin to wonder. This morning I tossed my t-shirt in the hamper and began my shower routine, and had to deviate with a trip to the basement for a towel. As I was coming up the stairs I saw a white blur go by, which is odd as Banjo is a B&T. Huh?

Pop my head outside and see him trotting over to the apple tree and proceed to bury my shirt. He took his time in selecting a spot, dropped the shirt LOOKED AROUND and then dug his tidy little hole. Dropped the shirt in there, tamped it down a smidge with his nose and then covered the hole up. Very well done, and super hard to spot. So after my shower I found a good probe in the basement and went and did some amateur archeology, aside from finding a few ox-tail bones I found the major portion of my UnderArmor and a few pairs of socks. Ruined for all intents and purposes except for around the house wear.

I would LOVE to know the thought process involved in this behavior. My theory is that the garments, being tight skin contact, carry my scent heavily and he's stockpiling "me" in his favorite place to chill. Makes me happy and at the same time drives me nuts. Hamper is gonna be relocated to a dog proof area I guess.

Oh my gosh that is hilarious!!! Whenever I put socks or underwear in my hamper, that is always the first thing Glock pulls out. They are such oddballs.

That's hilarious! Sasha steals and destroys my underwear, so I get where you're coming from. I have started putting my hamper in the closet and keeping the door shut so that she cannot (knock on wood) get to it.

I don't think we've ever had a dog that hasn't stolen underwear. I used to have this habit of leaving clothes in the bathroom from a shower, and Shelbye (before she was blind, deaf, and dumb - LOL) would always steal them and chew the crotch out of them. It would make me SO MAD. One time her and Schatzi chewed the crotch out of an $80 bathing suit I had. (NEVER go to Sports Authority for bathing suits!)

Too funny!
Your Banjo must be related to my girl Sprite. She loves to steal things and bury them. It upsets her in the house, because she can't dig. So she just carries the stolen item from corner to corner hoping I don't see her!

Lol must be related to my Alex, too - she has an affinity for my bras, and if I don't put something ontop of them while they're in the hamper, I wake up to them being 'buried' in the dog bed or sitting on my bed with her walking around with one in her mouth. She hasn't destroyed one yet, but I wouldn't put it past her.

Dogs are weird haha. This story made my day, though

BremboI understand . Daisy does the rip the crotch thing to and has taken husbands shorts and socks to the outside, Gotta love a resourceful dog. If she has not had something to chew in awhile she will walk by w/ clothing in her mouth.Just a quick reminder of what she needs.
