The thing is, I use my vet's office for socialization. I am afraid that if I make a stink about it, they will tell me to just go home and they will call me with the results. It was a target test, I really did not have to wait around for the results. So that would have cut my visit with these people in half.
Also, they may think that I am worried my dog will hurt someone. I guess I just want to go ahead with these situations when the dog is not injured or sick, so that it will not be quite as stressful if they are. If the dog was injured or sick, I would have told the lady flat out that my dog is in pain, and she needs to keep her child away from her. And I would have gotten the staff to get me into an exam room or to deal with the lady and kid if it continued. I was very proud of how Heidi managed to keep her cool.
