I am glad all turned out OK!
Not to nit-pick but your house was burglarized, you were not robbed. Robbery is a crime where someone confronts and takes something from you. I think your dog would have taken a more active role had you been robbed! |

This is why I want 2 GSD's. One to sleep down stairs with the kids and one to sleep upstairs with us. I really hate the way our home is set up with the kids down there and all... a nicely trained GS would go a LONG way to helping me feel more comfortable with it. |

i'm glad nobody was hurt (except the burglers!) I hope the DNA comes back with some positive results on who did it. I miss having Zena around because she's my guard girl. My others are chicken. Riley acts all big and bad but would pretty much be like "love on me and take whatever you want". Zena would take limbs off! keep us updated!

Thanks for all the well wishes. We are all still a little on edge. I think it would be a while before we hear anything if we ever do. I am extremely proud of Shadow, we all are. I've been watching Shadow closely for any adverse effects, so far so good, although she is being extra vigilant with any strange noises. Example, she was outside with my older son yesterday, I was just inside the windows door area to our court yard, where I had full view of her and she had full view of me. She must of heard a noise, none of the little dogs reacted. She was standing at our side fence trying to see near our front door, I let her in, she ran to the front door, then back outside to the side area, then back in to the front door, then she bolted threw the house to my bedroom. I followed her and found her standing back legs on my bed front legs on the portable aircon near my bedroom window. She was standing tall and ridged. She has a full view of the front of the house and driveway from this position. I told her what a good girl she was and checked out the area myself. We have a lot of strangers in the area at the moment because a carnival is on. I'll be glad when the carnival is over. She usually sleeps in my older sons room, but she is now sleeping at my 11 year olds feet, if he gets up threw the night for anything she is right there with him. For a 10 month old she is amazing.
I've had a better look at our front door and I've been wondering if she actually did bust the screen out in an attempt to get to who ever was in here. My front wooden door is scratched up really badly, it had a couple of scratches before but now it is much much worse. We discovered a while back that Shadow can open doors that have a lever handle, which the front door has. Perhaps the thief/thieves went back out the window they came threw. As an added note the police thought Shadow was a two year old, I think because of her size and maturity. She is a big girl she weighs between 38.5 kilos and 39.5 Kilos and stands 25.5 inches, she is fairly broad across the chest area to. She is a good girl, she can do no wrong at the moment. My son is always getting compliments from other dog owners on how calm and amazing she is. Wow if she is like this at 10 months, I can't even begin to imagine how unbelievable she will be when she hits adult hood. |
