Okay it's funny now, but earlier tonight we rushed Harley into the emergency care at a local Vet Hospital. He was exhibiting signs of bloat.
Eating tons and tons of grass, panting, pacing, wretching but not vomiting, stomach seemed distended and hard...I'm no vet and wasn't going to risk waiting to see if it was bloat. Got him to the vets and he was still fidgity and panting heavily...off they took him for x-rays... The vet tech brought him back in the room and said the vet will be right in. Harley burped...and burped again....use your imagination for what the other end was doing... The vet came in..."His stomach seems fine, not close to being full, showing no signs of bloat. Everything else appears to be normal.....Harley......has gas." The vet gave him an injection of pepcid just in case he had an upset stomach. I think I heard him snicker when he left the room. Total bill.....$265.00 I do love my dog, I do love my dog.... |

Oh no!
Glad to hear he is feeling better though! Stark got stung by a bee when he was 5ish months old, his muzzle blew up.. rush to the E-Vet, some benedryl shot and $300.00 later, Stark and I were home fine. Vet told me next time to give him one of the kids tablets that you can buy at Walmart for $10.00... yup.... we love our darn dogs.. lol.

![]() I have a similar story that might make you laugh (I wasn't laughing at the time). My Heidi had ear problems once again and her regular vet couldn't figure out what was going on, so he took skull x-rays and all three vets at the clinic looked at them and then they were sent off to a radiologist. The report came back and it said they suspect a soft tissue tumor, Heidi needed an MRI. We drove 7 hours one way to Phoenix to see the neurologist who told us before the MRI just by examining Heidi that she didn't have a tumor. He suggested doing the MRI anyway to see if there is anything abnormal going on. After $1,500 for the MRI the doctor send us home with prednisone and ear drops...she had an ear infection ![]() My husband was cracking up but I wasn't all that amused at the time! Michaela
