So we were in the Keys until this afternoon vacationing with Max in tow. We stayed in Key Largo at a great dog friendly (mostly) hotel. Max is part otter/seal so we took him to Anne's beach just south of Islamirada, where they have an off leash and fairly nice dog beach. Max swims with us for at least 500 yards out and then back... he does have some rest stops, because there are plenty of very shallow areas, so we make sure he doesn't over do it. The only issue is, he still drinks salt water... we live in FL, so we have lots of beaches... I think dogs learn to stop drinking it eventually... my others did. Anyway, we finish swimming, he gets a shower, we get a shower and we head off for lunch. There's this great marina restaurant that is super dog friendly and we get a table. There are actually two other GSDs there and a couple of small dogs too. The waitress brings Max a gigantic bowl of ice water immediately... a good 15 minutes before we even get asked what we want to drink!!!

Good, right? Ughhh.. between probably 2 gallons on salt water and then he "inhales" 2 gallons of ice water (I never give him ice water!!), Max proceeds to create a new tributary to the Mississippi river, barfing this deluge that had people lifting their feet!!!

I was sooo embarrassed!!! The wait staff was totally cool, while I asking to please let me clean it. They were saying... "he went to the beach, right?... happens here all the time, relax honey!"

Anyway, we finally ate lunch. Max was fine after he purged and all was right in the world.
