Our first rescue, Gunny, was so full of energy, that he bounced all the time...we were teaching him to come and stay in the yard, etc- he was with dh in the back of our property and I was heading toward the house..dh said, 'go get mommy' and Gunny tore off towards me- never having had a rescue before, I expected him to stop when he got to me..uh, nope. I felt like I had been tackled by a linebacker- he hit the back of one leg, while my other was up taking a step- I spun around like a top, and probably looked like a cartoon character- arms up, (don't know what my expression looked like, ) and fell flat on my face in the dirt.
As I lay there, wondering if anything was broken, Gunny proceeded to run back and forth past my face trying to lick it each pass. He enjoyed the whole thing! Luckily, I managed to pick myself up and nothing broken, yay.
Of course, the next time, he did manage to break a tooth- I bent down to pet his head and he came up the same time-HARD- had to get it checked out to see if the root was broken, and the dr accidentally cut a blood vessel- next day I had a black eye and was asked the same question- 'is everything ok at home?" LOL my poor hubby had to endure looks for a couple of weeks while my black eye healed. I also ended up having to have a bridge in my mouth- to the tune of $5000----expensive rescue dog!

Love this thread- glad it got revived. I must be doing something wrong because my dogs have never really hurt me- the occasional head bump and sitting on my head yes.

Now my ex husband on the other hand- once Dooney learned to jump on the bed, she jumped up while he was laying down and landed on umm... the family jewels- well as he laid there whining in pain, SHE thought that was an invite to continue the jumping around on him causing yet MORE pain, he finally used his hands to cover up, and she just KNEW he wanted her to bite at his hands, so she proceeded to give him some nibbles in that area as well. What was I doing during this ?..... sitting on the floor laughing so hard I was crying, I couldn't help him it was too darn funny. Finally I was able to get up- get the dog off the bed and quietly shut the door behind me as I burst out laughing again.

-sigh- Good girl Dooney, good girl. LOL

No direct injuries, but I may or may not have torn my rotator cuff throwing his football

Mikko broke my toe in two places.
We were practicing threadles in agility and I was running in bare feet. We collided and I was left on the ground with my broken toe-I'm not sure Mikko even felt it...

Besides the usual bumps and bruises I did a flip over Sasha one day. We were playing chase in the house and were running down the hall (me behind her chasing her) when all the sudden she stopped and I flew over the top of her lol My family thought that one was pretty good.

The other day were walking from my car to the door when she abruptly stopped to pee. I was wearing UGGs and they have zero traction. Needless to say I slipped on the ice right in the parking lot.

Other than that there's been a lot of scratches, bruises, bloody lips and nose injuries lol

Had a "play bite" that actually broke skin, and I bled for a good long while before it stopped.
Several bruises on my legs from her "anti-lock brake system". Hahaha
Thought she broke my nose one day. I leaned down as she SHOT up.
THOUSANDS of scratches, EVERYWHERE. Hahaha

And yeah, the typical "I thought she broke my toes when she stepped on them" story. =P

Other than that, nothing serious.. Yet.
