Vet suspects Elbow Dysplasia but unable to give a definitive diagnosis
It's been a long while since I last posted. My boy is now soon to turn 1 year old and it became apparent to us a few months ago that there is something severely wrong with his front right paw (and potentially his left as well ). We took him to the vets where he underwent an X-ray. The vets informed my partner and I that he has mild hip dysplasia but they were hesitant to diagnose anything in his front leg and have instead referred us to an orthopaedic specialist. Well I was hoping someone on this forum may be able to take a look at the X-rays in the mean time while we wait for the next appointment just to give me some answers (obviously I know this doesn't take the place of medical advice, I am just curious). Thanks in advance,
you mean elbow dysplasia or hip dysplasia?
I'm not great at reading elbows. They do look different than the perfect elbow example my vet showed me. With Riley we went to an orthopedic specialist. There are differnt ED's that can happen. He did have any that can be seen. The other one would need to be diagnosed using a camera they insert inside. We didn't do that. He ended up having pano.
The ortho specialist did say when a dog gets ED it's usually bilateral.
