maybe someone can explain what I think I am seeing?

The left side of the picture , everything looks larger, the bone , even the muscle. Is that because of the angle or is it really so.

The positioning is pretty bad IMO this makes the hips hard to assess. On quick glance I saw nothing to be concerned about but with the poor positioning you cannot really see well

Hi there

This is the picture taking at 6 month's by a different vet in the same vets? know I am seeing what your saying about the right legs looks bigger? so confused here, also the vet has said she is unable to have surgery and I am to take her back in a years time to have another Xray, He also told me to just give her extra Glucosamine every other month not every month although I have always giving my Shepherds the supps, she has both Glucosamine and Chondroitin in her food. He has also stated that I should not restrict her exercise unless she wants to, The problem I have here is the language barrier although they speak fluent English the vets here just seem a little matter of a fact and don't seem to see many things an issue, am I just worrying or should I be worried not sure if I totally trust their opinions at times. any advice would be really appreciated.

Hi all

Just to let you know why the right legs looks bigger we have just looked at the Xray again and it seems the leg was not in the same position as the left leg that's why it looks bigger, but my concern is the left leg and in your opinions is it looking like the start of HD? thanks for your help and opinions

Off course the vet knows best. But if possible, get another set of X-rays with good position (meaning everything is centered and each side is the same size). The results may be completely different, better or worse.

since you have a digital x ray can you send the image on to someone better qualified than your vet to give an opinion.
I don't see anything to be concerned about either .

Hi

Thanks for all your reply's I have spoken to the other vet that I prefer to deal with and he has said it looks ok to him there maybe a slight chance of stage 1 HD but I am not to worry, I have to have another Xray in a years time.
