I see all these nice hips, so I figured time for a bad one for anyone curious as to what they look like. These are my GSD's hips at 8 months of age. Taken from my cell so it's crooked, but you can still see the left ball does not even touch the socket, while the right does just a little bit. Ironically the left hip is the one that doesn't hurt. It's the right one with the bone-bone contact that does. His FHO was done on the right hip Jan 2012 at 9 months old. No plans on doing the left side anytime soon since he is doing fine.

Yes, very very very amazing. When I first saw those x-rays I bawled. Didn't even know how he was able to stand, much less walk. Yet he really showed very little discomfort; so little that I thought he just had pano.
ETA: For the curious this is a WL dog.

Maybe you can start your own thread on bad hips and we can see the progression as a thread? Folling your pup over its life would be very informative.

Good idea, thank you
I just wasn't sure if this thread was meant to be a sharing one but I didn't want to take over.
