My girl Sophie on left, sharing a stick with Blitzen, soon after I brought him home from Animal Care & Control. He's still pretty underweight in this picture. I adopted Sophie at 2 after being passed around from homes who couldn't keep her. She was 9 years old and in the later stages of DM in this picture, I had to let her go a few months later.

What a great thread. These are my rescues. Clearly Wrigley has a lot of German Shepherd in her but who knows if she's pure bred. Agent Cooper, on the other hand, is a mystery. He and his sister were strays, his sister looked exactly like him but was a lot taller and had a GSD face. So we know there is probably some GSD in Agent Cooper, along with 60 other breeds. He is truly A Cooper.

I have had my heart set on a GSD since I was tiny, and was very upset that I did not have the money to spend on one when I started looking (Pricey pups!)
You can't imagine how ecstatic I was when I found this lovely lady, for $45, in a shelter.

We got Gunther at 4 months from the Tacoma Humane Society
great people to work with. They had a hard time seeing him go. One volunteer Im sure was going to adopt him herself if we werent there. He can be a handful at times, mainly when I'm sick and cant exercise him, but we love him to bits Sent from Petguide.com Free App |

What a bunch of happy looking animals. If I ever get a house with a yard, I want to rescue. Not sure how that works with a service dog in the house.

![]() ![]() Here's my Daisy on moving day a few months ago. She's around 11 now. Got her at the shelter ten years ago when we noticed my lab needed a buddy while I was at work. She's played mommy and helped raise three dogs now. My lab Pandora '01-'12, my wife's papillon Tiffany who is two years old now and my latest addition Oberon who is 4.5 months old. Always patient gentle and loving no matter how big or small ![]() Oberon and Daisy Sent from Petguide.com Free App |
