My pups sire is a black and red traditional saddle and his dam is a solid black... Do any of you have a dog from a similar breeding? I'm curious what he 'might' end up looking like as an adult just really out of plain curiosity!
Here is my most current pic of him!

my guess is that your dog should stay nice and dark... they always seem to anyway with a recessive black gene.
Here's mine - on her first birthday she's a black and tan, with a reccessive black gene. and at about 6 weeks-

She's gorgeous! So I guess mine 'could' look similiar but would be more red then tan(his father is from German show lines). Though I could be wrong, I'm new to this.

Yes, my pups dam is a traditional black and red (German/Canadian pedigree) and his sire is a workling lines solid black male (DDR/WG working).

He is extremely handsome and beautiful head too! So it seems like this particular cross tends to have a bigger mask?
When I was looking for a pup I was solely focused on health and temperament and didn't pay much attention to looks but now that my pup is coming home soon, I'm starting to get more curious what he'll end up looking like. So far, I'm not disappointed! Plus he's a coatie so I think he's going to be quite a looker, course I am like a million times biased.

I personally am *not* a fan of the cross, and would never own another, but I love my dog. A lot of work went into this guy and he has my whole heart, but would not do another cross (show/working). Just my opinion from my experience with Stark.
