I cant understand how the saddleback is the preferred in show or in any way. Yes a true gsd crossed with ? dog usually wont be sadleback but thats a pretty lame way to define the breed. In mutts and stuff you can get sables but if they are pedigreed they are gsd and sable is the best coat to me. Although some long coats are beautiful, im not a fan of most show lines. My sable girl is tyhe best ever! Please excuse the lack of pictures.
