Athena met Ruby a few weeks ago for the very first time! It went very well, actually.
Athena has only seen a horse once in her life, and although she did one tiny lip curl over an eye tooth when Ruby first put her big nose down in her face, she accepted Ruby sniffing her all over. Athena was a big hit at the barn; she played in the hose, picked up branches, and trotted around.
Ruby was typically curious and gentle with her, which is why I love her so much. She's such a kind-hearted little horse.
Ruby is an Arabian--of course she is gentle and sweet! And beautiful, too. Love her head. I am so glad for you that Athena did so well around her. You have every reason to be proud of both of them!
You're 100% correct, Susan! My first posting lessons were on my aunt's Arabian gelding, who was a magnificent show jumper and dressage horse but who was so careful and mindful that he had a child on his back. Ruby has shown that same soft nature about children (and other animals). Yes; Athena is SUCH a good dog. Thanks
