I agree. My Sting didn't have bites but a cyst. Some type of bitter spray may also deter the licking. I use Chew Not! and I also redirect with a toy.

I have that trouble by the back gate. I put down some cedar mulch and that helped. What really worked better were pine needles. I raked some over the spot and it did keep the the area covered.
