I was reading Bruce Brisson's genetics article and realized a nice article featuring Chris Weeks and trailing is in here.
http://www.nordostenkennel.com/siteb...ingArticle.pdf I think it is a very good read that distinguishes trailing from tracking and on the training of hte scent specific trailing dog. There is also other stuff in the file Chris is excellent. When he lived near Raleigh, our team contracted with him for trailing training on a monthly basis and everyone got a lot out of it (you are expected to be in the peanut gallery following each trail and that is where you learn so much) - He is now in New Hamsphire, having moved to be closer to his and his wife's family. [having his first kid changed THAT focus ] We still try to get him down once a year or so.
