Hi
In my team we are presenting a project to the government and we need some numbers to support our words. I'd appreciate any help regarding statistics of SAR teams and SAR dogs. Things like how many teams/dogs are by area or population, how many would be the ideal. How often teams receive calls, etc. Everything you think could support the need of trained SAR dogs in an area. Links, PDFs, everything is welcomed.

To get that information you need to contact OES Office of Emergency Services), SAR teams/dog teams are tracked by OES. They will be able to give you current statistics and dog teams by region or even by county. Hope that helps.

? Maybe in California?
It is pretty much non standardized around the country. Our state has nothing official yet - just several teams working independantly with no state oversight.

Yeah, I've been asking the same question with friends of all countries I know (including mine) and all they have in common is the lack of of organization and information. It seems every team is a small world and nobody has a clear idea of what happens around the corner.
