Default VGSR looking for help w/surrounding state transports!

VGSR is looking to expand the areas from which we pull dogs. We would like to be able to pull from other states and help more dogs, but there is always the problem of transporting the dog to the VA/MD areas.

We would like to link up with groups or individuals that can help us pull dogs from NC, SC, GA, KY, TN, OH and PA. There are so many dogs being PTS in these states...we need to help them!

Please let us know if there are any transport groups that could help us help more dogs!

Thank you!

I could help. I"m in the northeastern part of PA and we have NO coverage up here. I'm very thankful to MAGSR and Main Line for pulling a couple of our shepherds. I can hold until transport as well.

Do you have a transport coordinator?

I think that would be the way to go with a large organization, and if you do you can work with other coordinators to learn the ins and outs of transports.

I would contact RebelGSD with Shepherds to Love, Julie with Big Dogs, Big Hearts, and see if they can help.

You can look in the old transport threads for Julie's contact info and PM Rebel perhaps.

I don't know who does them for MAGSR.

There are a lot of important ins and outs that an experienced coordinator can help with.

Hope those two don't mind me offering their help!

It's great that the numbers are such that you can pull from elsewhere - it seems like NY is getting bad with dogs in need. But you have so many states nearer to you like WV, NC, etc, and that is great news for dogs!

WV could use help too!! ... we border on VA and we have many GSDs thru out WV in need of help in the shelters as well as OS's. I'm very very thankful to those rescue who have helped in WV and some are quite a ways off. Yes, transportation is always an issue, but it always seems to work out.

Yes, we have two transport coordinators (both new), so I'm trying to help gather information for them as I work with new shelters and rescue groups. We will definately reach out to other groups near where we are able to pull from.

Any and all help is always appreciated! I know there is a large run up and down I81 through VA...I believe they cover SC up to NJ...but that is on the west end of VA. Need to find ways to get dogs on these larger transports.

FORRUGER - if you come across WV dogs that need help, please let me know (gsd4me@ymail.com is the best way to reach me). Our pulls mostly rely on transport. We have many foster homes willing to help, but if I can't get the dog to them, its a no go.

Default VGSR transport help

Krystal:

I am a VGSR member in West Virginia and frequently see FORRUGER on transports. Actually, we just met again yesterday with Izzy's transport from WV to rescue in Ohio.

Both FORRUGER and I can temperament test and transport, so you have some GSD-savvy help in West Virginia.

Shannon

Shannon - please get in touch with me via email (gsd4me@ymail.com). I need to get Titan from OH to northern VA. Could you help get him closer to VA or MD?

Thanks!!
