Here is their story:
A young man found Nala on the streets a few months ago and brought her home, she soon gave birth to 8 pups, 4 placed by him and 4 coming to us - 3 males and 1 female. The man and his family wanted to keep Nala, but it caused him to be served with eviction papers. Long story stort, he contacted an adoption center for help, who contact MAGSR, who crossposted. Then we stepped in last Friday (Saturday was eviction date).

The adoption agency worked with us and the man and his family brought him to Blue Ridge Vets (phenomenal by the way), a Blue Ridge staff member said she went out to the car to meet this big burly country man, with a young wife, baby on hip, looks in the car to see pups (chunk monks) and mom, asleep curled up with 2 toddlers in the way back. The man had tears in his eyes and told her the story again. Then he proceeded to give her food (which he had gone to Petsmart and said I would like best food for GSD - Canidae) Nice yound man. I promised all we would keep him posted. Double urgency of last Friday was that he had planned to take Nala and pups to his moms to buy more time, mom was okay, stepfather said no way - so the family had no other alternative that day, rescue or kill shelter that was full.

Promise better pics soon.

This transport is filled - thanks to our Transport Coordinator who is driving roundtrip to meet Jenni in Harrisburg PA and drive Nala and pups back to Rochester, NY! Thank you Julie!

This section of PA is notariously difficult for us to find volunteer transporters.

I'll normally be available to drive for you guys now Darcy, I'm near Scranton. My SUV just picked a bad time to be in the shop needing piston bearings (meaning "replacing the pricey rear end of the vehicle)....and the thought of all those dogs in the Hyundi Elantra I'm driving till mine is fixed....hahahahaha!
