ADOPTED: Whiting, IN shelter male needs rescue

Volunteers at the very small Whiting, IN shelter (near Chicago and Michigan) need help for a sad faced GSD male they've had for a month. I've not met him personally and ask that you contact Karen at nwisds@yahoo.com for more information or to offer help.<P> From Karen:

Quick bio: He has been here for about a month. Male, can't guess age. Teeth look good. Had a collar on when brought in and knows the sit command.
He is non aggressive to humans and responds to petting and cooing and gets along with cell mates, but we have limited testing outside of the dogs here. He is not food aggressive with people and actually lets me take his rawhide out of his mouth. He doesn't mind when the dogs in other cages try to steal his treats. He cries often, more than barks. Saddest eyes ever!!! Housetraining unknown, but he keeps his run clear of waste. >>

There's no grey in the muzzle so he's a pretty young guy - he needs to be cleaned up and cheered up.

I would like to know more about this dog. We are looking for a young male long coated Shepherd and we definitely could give this guy some love.

Best bet would be to go visit him. Otherwise, maybe you could agree to foster him through one of the local rescue groups.

Illinois German Shepherd Rescue is very open to this type of thing.
