I named her Athena. Shelter said she was 7 but I believe she is much younger.
She is in great shape, has excellent ball and frisbee drive, and is very cute and fun! She is in heat, is a high HW+, and pretty much has no teeth!! Her tongue hangs out to the side a lot because of this. No clue what happened to her...it could be a lot of different things, I hope it wasn't cruelty though..she is very sweet! She does have her very back bottom teeth, the few teeth she does have in the front are all down in her gums. Had to take her straight into boarding until she finds a foster home, but I wanted to share the pics! It was her lucky day ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

She has beautiful markings! You can see her intense focus, which is evidence of a driven dog! She doesn't look that old.
Maybe her teeth are worn because of her ball drive, tennis balls can be harsh on them. |

I didn't want to play too much with her because I noticed blood on the ball.

She looks like she will be a lot of fun to work with. She certainly seems alert! I am assuming that she is staring so intently at the ball in that first picture.
I had a foster a few years ago that also had very worn teeth. The wear pattern in your girl sounds very similar to that in my foster. There was a great deal of speculation at the shelter regarding what had happened to his teeth. Someone had mentioned the possibility of this dog having been involved in bite work (like you would see in a schutzhund dog that had done a lot of bite work). I ended up deciding that the dog had worn his own teeth down with his rock obsession. He would snatch up any ball sized rock he came across. Not a good habit! I have seen some people here who will throw rocks for their dogs to chase into the river (they don't want to toss balls, they say, because they often get lost). I cringe when I see it, and try and explain why it is such a bad idea to habituate a dog to play with rocks. Could your foster girl be a rock hound when she can't get a tennis ball? Sheilah |

Oh she is beautiful! Good for you for giving her a new lease on life.
She will make a wonderful companion to the right person. She is definitely in love with life! And just what beautiful face and eyes.
