Well, Onyx arrived safely on Sunday night!
He is a BIG, sweet, goofy boy, who has zero manners (which is completely understandable), but he is a love. I know a bit more about him. He was born May 26, 2007. He lived with an older lady on a chain. He was too large for her to handle, so her son turned him in to the shelter in Goldsboro. The leg was injured when he came in from being wrapped in the chain. It dug in fairly deep. We were told it healed. It has not, or there is something else going on with the same foot. It is swollen and he favors it and it is painful to touch.  He is scheduled to be neutered and HW tested on Thursday and the vets will look at his foot and pads (as one on the same foot appears injured also) and take xrays if necessary. They don't want us to start any meds until they take a look at him. I will take new pictures, did a mention he is one BIG boy (tall and solid, not underweight at all - which I am sure he owes to Pet Palace).

I hope he does not have a bone infection or that the wound has gone septic. Is the wound still open?

That is what my DH said - it does not make sense - if the wound occurred 2 months ago.
The wound/cuts around his foot/leg appear closed. According to his original pull person, the wound was cleaned and treated with an antibiotic ointment - no oral antibiotics and he did not see a vet. Interesting point, the vet in Goldsboro who issued his health certificate to us noted nothing (charged for an exam) and when contacted said no swelling was noted and he was not favoring his foot. The temp foster in VA (for 3 days) emailed me the morning of transport that he was favoring his right back foot and the pad had some bleeding from the pad. In my opinion, there is more going on than just the pad We have to take our foster Abby to the vet tonight (whole other issue - I am posting in Health for help) and I will bring Onyx.
