Thank You from Hans
Unless you check out the "Urgent" section of this forum many of you do not know Hans. Here is his story. Five months ago he was tied to the back fence of the shelter which is located next to the veterinary hospital where I work. This was done while people were working in both areas. The shelter director thought Hans had a "wound" near his back end. That "wound" turned out to be the severest case of perianal fistulas that my boss, who has been a vet for 30 years, has ever seen. He opted to put Hans to sleep because the medical cost would be staggering for anyone who planned to adopt him.
Between myself and the girls at the shelter we got him to change his mind. The girls researched PFs and found out he needed a change in food. No meat-based protein and grain-free. He was put on Wellness white fish. Dr. Chiosi also researched and found medication for him at a lower cost. At his first recheck he was 20-30% better and at his last check-up three weeks ago he is at 95-98% better. Last week he was adopted to a new home. I wanted you all to know Hans' story, because if it wasn't for some of the people on this board praying and helping him, myamom,brightelf and others who kept me and the girls going he would not be going to a home.....he would be at the Bridge. It is because of the care and knowledge that you people possess that made it possible for Hans. Thank you for all your care and love of this dog whom no one knew, but still loved . I will make sure to give Hans a BIG hug from all of you

Thank you Kathy! What wonderful news
 to get this day-brightener. Hans is such a special fella, and you Kathy never stopped fighting for him. All the time, research, energy, and love that you poured into his situation really made the difference. You are Hans's angel! I am delighted that someone is enjoying his friendship and love. His eyes, his expression-- he looks so much like my late Chell. Sweetie-boy honeybun  Hans. I am so happy for him. May Hans be spoiled rotten in his new forever home for many years to come! Congratulations to this special boy!  ((((Hugs))))) to you Kathy!

Wanted to let you know I was able to meet Hans' new owners when they came to pick him up today. They are wonderful people and I know will take great care of him.
He climbed into the car and as he sat in the back seat he kept looking back toward the shelter and the hospital as if he was saying "good-bye, I'm going now. Thank you."
