What ever the outcome is, you did this poor animal a great service. Regardless ofwhat the days bring, she has had some attention, care and loving concern.
You truly are a rescue angel. ![]() I hope the family is also helped and can find a better life. Thank you, dogsnkiddos.

I don't know how to move this to the section someone requested, but I received an update regarding Margaret. She weighs in at 33 pounds on the vet digital scale. She is on clavamox for the UTI and pred for the flea dermatitis. She has had baths evry other day to treat her skin and will be on frontline as soon as the medicated baths stop. She was given the general wormer. She has a topical creme for the fly bite on her ear tips and her ears were treated for mites. She could not tolerate food the first few days, but is now on 2c 3x/day of a high quality food. She is also receiving vitamin supplements and glucoasimne/chondroitin supplements. They have plans to begin a slow water exercise program next week to start buliding back the lost muscle mass.
Tuesday, they will draw blood to test for any major health problems (please cross your fingers that if HW+ it is not a heavy load). She will also be vaxed after the bloodwork results return. They will delay whatever is necessary in order to allow her to gain strength and be able to tolerate. They plan to take baby steps in treating her- first handling what is obvious, then seeing if there is anything else that needs attention. Ther are a few things high on the list for attention (a few cyst like lumps- but small and the vet thinks sebacious) but those WILL get attention..... Her foster mom reports she is super sweet and very well mannered. She has some basic obedience it seems and is housebroken, etc. She has her own bed in the foster's office and they spend a great deal of time together. Her mom says she has not got a lot of energy yet, but she seems to FEEL better (she says she can see it in her face). The rescue is committed to giving her time and the resources to try to heal. If information comes in from the bloodwork that says doing so would be contrary to Margaret's best interest, I am sure they will re-evaluate. For now, they feel capable of giving her time, a chance. I asked them to send some photos... if they do I will share. |
