This is a female GSD located at a kill shelter in Brunswick County, NC (town of Supply). She was turned in by her owner earlier this week. I went to see her today and she looks so sad. She appears to have been a backyard breeder dog (has had puppies before), has fly-bitten ears, and had fleas hopping all over the place. I treated her with Frontline Plus at the shelter. She definitely needs a good brushing and a bath as she smelled horribly. She is shy and apparently was just thrown in the backyard. I did brush her for a few minutes to see how she'd react and she was fine. She needs a lot of love and some vet care. She is about 4 years old and needs to add some weight- definitely on the skinny side.
Anyone interested in giving this poor girl a chance? ![]() ![]() IMG]http://i169.photobucket.com/albums/u218/Ilovealldogs/002.jpg[/IMG] |

She is sooo pretty. Her eyes are just saying "Please give me a chance...I'll be a good dog!"

She's not on their site because they have not put her on adoption row and I am not sure they will to be honest. She's scared/shy and they may deem her not adoptable enough to move her up. My best guess is that she will need to have a rescue step up. She can be euthanized any day, but I did tell the shelter to call me ASAP if they decide to bump up her time.

I also forgot to mention that this shelter the past few weeks has been euthanizing approximately 25 dogs three times a week because so many are coming in and they don't have space.
