When I first went to the shelter to take the pictures to post, she wouldn't even look at me. That's why the pictures were so horrible. The one with her eyes rolled is the closest I could get for a facial shot. On the day of her rescue, however, she posed several different times. I am taking her for an outing tomorrow and will hopefully post some more pictures. She will be spayed this week, by the way.

I took Macy to the dog park over the weekend. I think I was more nervous than she was! I wanted to get her on an outing before her spay surgery this week. We met a friend with her GSD and Macy's first reaction was to show teeth and growl, but she soon became acclimated. I took her into the small dog area since no one was in that location. We eventually took her off leash and she followed me around, which was a hoot. She tried (once) playing with her new doggie friend, but that was about it. She also went to PetsMart where she was rewarded with some treats, bones, and toys. She was very well-behaved in the store. Here are pics (that my friend took and did a great job!) of her adventure:

I guess she's telling you she wants to stay by your side and that she only has eyes for you...

I wish I could! When I pulled her originally, I didn't even consider keeping her. In other words, I was not looking for another dog as my oldest has cancer and my 11-year-old (dog) has been having health issues also. Her personality is so great that I did consider it momentarily, but the timing is not good. My house is still on the market (over a year now), so I'm still stuck in a small house. She'll need a little work on getting used to being in a house as she had been kept outside probably her whole life, but she walks well on a leash, hasn't had any accidents, and is very gentle. She will definitely be an excellent dog for someone. Her spay surgery yesterday went well and she will be treated for heartworms in the upcoming weeks. She'll be going into a foster home soon (unless we find her a permanent home beforehand). |
