OMG. Hannamom, I received an email about your new senior. She looks soooo beautiful in her photos. I, of course, choked up when I read that Millie inspired you to adopt her. So many people have suggested that I put Millie down because of her DM. But she LOVES life, not to mention she's got a GREAT life! And now here is one more reason to keep her going, because she inspires more people to adopt more seniors.

I just did my taxes today. Here's my knee jerk reaction. How 'bout we keep paying it forward. I'd like to make a donation to another needy senior in honor of your new Maggy/Millie. YOU can choose her/him, as long as she's a senior (or special needs). Please email me for specifics if this is something that interests you. Doglaady1@comcast.net

Again, congratulations. You've been blessed....and now you've got one more Maggy/Millie groupy to contend with, hehe!

Matsi she is so wonderful. I saw your Millie and wanted her so bad. I started looking for a floppy eared, blk/tan, female GSD. I knew when I found one what her name would be.
I'm so glad you keep your girl going. As long as she has a zest and is happy I can't imagine putting her down. I really admire you for taking all of these special needs babies in and taking such great care of them.
You have made a very generous offer. I will e-mail you tonight. Thank you so much. Maybe our Millie's combined can inspire a few more people.

I'm so happy for both of you. Sounds like a great connection!

Also, as an FYI. GSRNE sent me to check out Millie at the shelter because she was going to be euthanized. It was an immediate connection, but I had no idea what to call her. It was a very odd feeling, having a dog without a name. I didn't like it. I ended up on email all night with another member (Mainelady from this forum) who came up with the name Millie. Then someone else from this forum called her Nannie Millie, and then it all seemed to fit her really well. Now everyone here calls her Nannie Millie.

Hey, there are strenths in numbers, so may Millie and Nannie Millie go on to dispel all myths about seniors!

I just answered your email btw.

Millie is doing well. She loves to go from a dead sleep to full blast chasing the cat and scaring her to death.
She doesn't do well on walks around town(her hips bother her sometimes) so we go to the park and I let her go at her own pace. She loves to just lay around (mostly under the kitchen table) and wait for the kids to give her their unwanted bites.
Millie and Hanna are getting along better. They have learned to get along and for the most part are content laying right under my feet.
Millie is wonderful with the kids. They have learned to "be easy" with her because she is an "old lady" I LOVE having a senior in the house. It seems like something was missing until she got here. Now I can't imagine life without her.

I missed this update. Millie looks so content, it's so good to see.

Millie/Maggy, I love you, and you will forever be a part of my heart. I look forward to many more updates and pictures, but especially pictures!
