I called there this morning to find out whether or not he was good with dogs and cats and the lady told me that they had not tested him, but supposedly were going to do it today. If he's good with both, I could pull him.

That would be great... he's turning into our poster boy I think!

I don't mean to be pushy (well maybe just a little ) but do you mean pull to adopt or pull to foster while someone comes to get him?

Here's the update I got from Kris at the shelter: She was worried about that underbite, so she took him to her vet.

[ QUOTE ]
Well Smiley's vet visit went really well. Dr. Palmer did not see any long term problems for him, he said it might be harder for him to pick up dry kibble, but he is getting it done, so he must have made adjustments. He also thought he was beautiful. I asked him about his rear leg stance, and he said he thought his hocks looked low, but did not see anything physically obviously wrong. People at the vet clinic were surprised (clients) when I told them he was not my dog. He was sitting in my lap, giving me kisses, sitting beside me on the bench, just all over me. He does do his submissive peeing thing, everytime someone new went to pet him he peed on me :-) I think as he got more sure he would improve. He is very sweet, tailwagging and happy to see me tonight. Tomorrow we will put him with some of the other dogs and see how that goes. Don't want to overwhelm him. Anyway, wanted to give you an update and thank you for everyone's help in trying to find something for this boy.

[/ QUOTE ]

So, now he's not only gorgeous, but he's sweet and happy. Sue, I agree - he's quickly becoming our poster boy. I've sent that poster everywhere I can think of - what a great way to get the information out there - thanks again Donna! I"m going to send it to Kris and maybe she can post it around also.

If he has a sweet disposition...I think he'd make a great therapy dog!

That is very true!

Suedid: Either or (meaning foster or adopt). It will all depend on how he does with other dogs (and cats).

Waiting to hear back from Kris at the shelter on how he's doing with other dogs (they just put him in with some today), seeing if she could test him with kitties and whether he's neutered or not.

So far, he still needs a place to go...
