Jean, the eyes are striking, like a wolf. To look at Anna, I'd never guess that she was taking those baby steps. She appears very confident in her modeling role.
It's really an incredible story. I hope it paves the way for others like her. |

Then one day when I had my camera out (and I think it's on her second thread-it was a noteworthy event) she looked at me, kind of gathered herself, sat down and stared at me waiting...and kept looking as I took pictures of her. It was huge! Now she is used to it, and is also very good about looking right at me! Funny you mention the wolf thing...she does not really move entirely like a dog. I've never been around wolves, so I can't say...but there's been talk. Laurie-I just think Anna is so much fun because just when I think she's gone as far as she can, she tries something new. Amy M-I just couldn't contain myself! I am going to hug her next week, too!

Being new I had no idea of Anna's story and I have to say i'm sitting here crying my eyes out in joy What a beutiful girl she is and it's so wonderful that she has such a nurturing mamma to help her come out of such a dark place.

Thank you so much-Anna is like my own little Allegory of the Cave, always pushing toward the light. I am glad you read her story. Thank you!
She had her third class tonight. I took Ava with her. I call it the Return of Ava because Ava took a similar class with the same instructor and walked in like she owned it. Anna did great! I think at first I wanted it to be Anna and me time, but I think she needs to see what she's supposed to do in class and Ava can show her. We did a recall from about twenty feet and Ava definitely showed Anna that a speedy recall is the best recall. Anna had no idea that they were going to take off so quickly and you could see the surprise on her face as Ava dragged her a couple of feet (they were on a coupler) before she got into it and they both came zooming up. She was pretty amazing-took treats from the couple we sit near, walked on bubble wrap, and did a beautiful sit during the obedience part. She really seemed to like having Ava attached to her. AND!!! NO poopies! The trainer had thought that was a good 8 week goal and couldn't believe she had achieved it in 3 weeks. I gave Anna another big hug and kiss when we got home-not air hugs and kisses but real ones. If this is as far as she can get, I am satisified. Everything she does has just been icing on the cake. Of course, special thanks to Ava, who really likes having such a good and important job.

I just spent two hours reading Annas story..time well spent! Bless you Karen, Deb and Jean for your kindness and hard work.
Jean, in that last pic of Anna she looks almost contemplative as if she's thinking..maybe..I'm o.k now..maybe I can relax..because Jean loves me. |

Barb-thanks for the party and the hugs! It was a very happy ride home from class last night.
Trmb: WOW-I can't believe you read the whole thing! Thanks-and I like what you said about that photo. Leslie-Can you PM me directions to your work if you don't mind! We will stop in-I just can't remember the specifics. Rose-thanks for always keeping up with Anna and being such a great cheerleader. She has a nice little progress burst the night and day after class as well. She was very funny this morning playing with Ilsa-doing all sorts of hopping and pouncing-and wanted me to pet her, too.
